Scoring system seems flawed

It doesn't seem fair that a lower placing wrestler can score more team points than a higher placing wrestler. As I understand it, a first place finisher may only score 20 points, 16 for finishing first and 4 for advancing (assumes no activity points). On the other hand, a wrestler finishing fifth can score 21.5 points: 7 points for placement; 3 points for advancing (6 consolation matches @ .5) if he lost his first match and 12 points for pinning his opponent in all 6 victories. It seems crazy that fifth place could score more than first place. It really shows the value in being aggressive and scoring a lot of points or getting pins.
